Audio tour Summary
At 931m, Skiddaw is the 4th highest peak in England.
This is a HARD route, but a brilliant outing that crosses some fairly remote terrain.
The start of the route follows a road to Threlkeld, then a accent along side Blencathra up to Skiddaw House. After that it has fun single tracks down to Mosedale.
The outward leg goes along rough mining roads that are great fun to ride. The first challenge is the climb up Whitewater Dash, this is challenge even with a decent surface, followed by a fast decent down to the infant River Caldew. The drop from Skiddaw house is good fun, with some well surfaced sections and some peaty traps to break the flow.
Once you get back to Skiddaw house return the same way you came.
- 1 E-Venture HQ
- 2 Skiddaw House
- 3 Skiddaw View Point
- 4 Latrigg Summit
